Women Power Contributing to IEEE Smart Cities IEEE Smart Cities team is envisioning an increased presence and participation from women professionals across the corners of globe in the space of city. We are excited to create platform for women professionals to contribute and showcase their expertise in the field of STEM. Women in Smart Cities Talk Series is launched on 5th June 2024 by IEEE President-Elect 2024 Kathleen Kramer. Dr Surekha Deshmukh Chair of IEEE Pune Section moderated the talk. Mr Georges Zissis and Beverly Pasian, Dr Mandar Bhawalkar, Mr Gaurav Pathak supported the event. Dr Kathleen covered her perspective on Cyber Physical Systems for Smarter Cities. She gave multiple examples of demonstrating the presence of digital interventions providing a sensible and useful data to be leveraged to make city liveable. Different city specific priority tasks are accomplished by using latest deep-tech tools. The cyber physical integration plays a vital role in ensuring safety of city. This talk series is instituted with an objective to invite the diverse women professionals to speak about their professional journey, IEEE journey as well as their views on Role of Technology in Smart Cities.
