Microgrid deployments can range from commercial building to campus and up to utility distribution systems. Common use cases range from the need to provide essential services during emergency scenarios to business requirements to utilize green energy sources and to provide uninterruptible service to customers. Power quality considerations range from aspects of improved continuity of power to considerations of frequency management, short circuit capacity, and load shedding. Mr. Mueller will outline some of the most common use cases for the utilization of microgrids, and he will also provide insight into some of the important power quality considerations.
